Non-HTTPS sites to be marked as “not secure” by Google Chrome

Google on Thursday announced that effective July 2018, all websites that haven’t converted to HTTPS will be marked as “not secure” on its browser, Google Chrome.

In a blog titled “A secure web is here to stay”, Google has announced that with the release of Chrome 68, all sites not using HTTPS encryption will be marked.

Websites have slowly been migrating from HTTP to HTTPS, with now over 81 out of top 100 sites on the web using HTTPS by default.

According to Google, it is now easier than ever to migrate to HTTPS — and definitely better. To learn more about HTTPS and its importance, check out this guide.
